Battle Royale

The dark clouds loom over the horizon
engulfing the placid sky with its monstrosity
We have waited long enough, they say,
it's our time now, to rule over you.
You have fought long enough, now you have to pay.

The mind finally lets the feelings take over,
a little foreign, but also inherent.
The mind a little relieved but also defeated.
The novelty refreshingly different
but evil and constricted.

As the sky disappears beneath the sea of black,
a tiny bit of blue visible through a crack,
the clouds let out a thundering roar
announcing a major twist in the battle royale.

For till now the blue sky had fought
with the sun shining in all its glory,
the mere attacks by the dark powers
had hardly affected its winning story.

But as the mind grew weary of the persistent strife,
it let the darkness creep over and within
and the change of dominance was inevitable,
unwelcome but relieving.

The change of power was hardly silent,
as the thunder and lightning
marked their arrival
with a furious dance of light and sound
and the sky slowly changing and adapting,
the new members being given a chance.

The mind finally enlightened by the truth,
the necessity of the evil looming within,
embraces it like a long lost sibling
finally feeling complete therein.

The sky and the darkness finally unite,
accepting each others differences
for one cannot exist happily without the other
they are but pieces of a greater picture.
The dance of the light and sound
is now joyous and welcoming.
It's the starting of a new era,
the celebration of a new discovery.

As the mind finally accepts, overwhelmed with
new emotions that fill in the empty spaces
tears roll down from the eyes
as the rain falls from the skies
for that very moment is not a happy nor a sad one
it's a perfect blend, an equilibrium.
